Faith Without Works

The author of James makes some pretty bold statements throughout the book of James. Here is one of these statements that is a challenge for me everyday...

If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, 'Go in peace, be warmed and filled,' without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

James 2:15-16

I am quick to pray for someone but not always quick to meet their needs. Prayer is powerful, and God answers prayers. So, please do not hear that I am saying prayer is useless!! God has blessed me with more than I need and I should be willing to use these resources (that He has given to me anyway) to help those that are less fortunate. The real challenge then, is to APPLY this to my life after reading these verses.
Just wanted to write this quick but incomplete thought from my Bible study this morning.
