Quiet Time, Sunday Morning

This year we did not give a quiet time guide to the students, so they are continuing with whatever they have been doing in their quiet time at home. I, Cliff, have started reading through the book of Romans and love how Paul writes in the first chapter of his longing to visit Rome. Our group has had this same longing to be in Guatemala for quite some time!

More specifically, verse 12 in chapter one says "that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine." (ESV) It is so encouraging to see the faith of the Guatemalan people! They have so little--in terms of worldly things, yet they have joy and peace in the fact that they actually have EVERYTHING because they know Jesus Christ! To the people of Guatemala, Jesus being the way, truth, and life is not just a verse that tells of a future way, truth, and life; as we in the US often see this verse. Jesus is their way, truth, and life right now, in the present. He is everything that they HAVE, WANT, and NEED

My Prayer For Our Group Today: That the Lord would teach and show us that He is our only true need! That the desires of our hearts would be to know the Lord first, and want to share the Gospel as a result of that second (both in actions and words).
